For most parts you will find different vendors, this list is a reference of where we buy our parts. Some of the links are affiliate links and we will get a small commission from your purchase without any additional costs to you. There are more details about each part in the Hardware section.
EU¶
| Part | Vendor | AliExpress | Amazon | Comment |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Modem | select CAT 1 EU | This one is ONLY available via AliExpress, we could not find it listed anywhere else. | ||
| Voltage sensor | select INA231 | INA226 | INA231 is slightly smaller | |
| RPi Zero 2 W | Welectron, Reichelt, BerryBase | 2 | RPi Zero 2 W | Preferably source from your local dealer. Use version without headers. |
| RPi camera v3 1 | Reichelt, BerryBase | 2 | RPi Cam v3 | Choose the "wide" option |
| Arducam 1 | mybotshop, Antratek | 2 | Same sensor as the RPi camera v3, but no autofocus. Sometimes difficult to get. | |
| Ribbon Cable | Reichelt, BerryBase | 8, 16 & 30cm pack | 16cm | The arducam comes with a matching one, for the picam you need one with mini connector. They come in different lengths, choose the right one for your build. |
| SD card | Reichelt, BerryBase | SanDisk Max Endurance 32GB | Buy a good quality one, 32GB is enough and should give you hours of onboard recording | |
| 5V Step Down | BerryBase - 1A | 3A | This one depends a bit on how you are planning on powering your RPi. Recommended to power from the 5V rail with a clean voltage. 1A is fine for RPi & Modem. The options on Amazon are hit and miss - buy a quality one! NOTE: Be careful with powering from your ESC, oftentimes they output more than 5V. Avoid variable ones - the potentiometer is a liability. | |
| USB UART | BerryBase | select USB C | CP2102 - USB C | Optional. Great for debugging, mandatory for development. Any FTDI adapter will do - make sure it does support 3.3V. |

You can buy almost everything on Amazon, but it will be more expensive. I highly recommend going through AliExpress. It will take a bit longer, but it is significantly cheaper, and you will have to source the modem from there anyway. Buying a Raspberry Pi should easily be possible locally, there is an official reseller list.
